Favorite Summer Makeup Products

For me, summer makeup is light, fresh and fun! Here are some products and techniques I’m gravitating towards during this summer.

1. The Face

I love spot concealing, especially with the warmer weeks ahead, I can’t imagine wearing a whole lot of makeup that will melt! I pat concealer on the red areas of my face-nose and chin. This Maybelline concealer is discontinued but I love using this for redness concealing!

This Neutrogena bronzer is my new favorite product to use this summer! The bronzer is not too dark for my fair skin and has great red undertones to it that mimics the color of real tanned skin. I apply this on my cheekbones, temples and jaw to give myself some color, not to contour !

Another good alternative is this e.l.f blush and bronzer duo, but the bronzer is a bit too dark for me to apply it as an allover bronzer color. This is better for contouring.

If using bronzer isn’t your thang, a good ol’ peachy blush (e.l.f blush in “Peachy Keen”) on the apples of the cheeks blended up toward your temples instantly makes you look oh-so-glowy and summery!

Another blush I love using is Narsblush in “orgasm.” With it’s gold shimmery particles, it instantly gives your cheeks a nice glow!

My skin naturally has a sheen to it, so though I love luminizers and highlighters, I’m much too oily to wear them during the summer *sigh* :( But I love love dewy skin for the warmer months! Here is e.l.f’s shimmer palette. Cream products are also a love for me during summer. So blendable and sheer and glowy!

2. Lips

I love bright lips in the summer! These Revlon Lip butters are perfectly smooth, and deliver jellybean like color (softly pigmented!).

I also really like natural looking lips (Revlon lipstick in “soft nude”) —for an effortless look!

Nice, natural rosy shades are my favorite too! (Estee Lauder lipstick in “Crystal Pink”)

3. Nails

Gotta love me some clean white, gorgeous mint and fierce neons!

4. Eyes

The majority of beautiful, creamy, neutral cream eyeshadows/bases crease on me…if they didn’t, they’d be my number one go to for eyes! An all over sheen on the lids—how lovely!

But for eyeshadows, I’m in love with golds and bronzes! Usually I forgo shadow in the summer, but when I feel like playing up my eyes, shimmer neutrals are gorgeous for this season! Below is a Lancome sample palette.

For sure though, I must have on mascara! I love the look of fluttery, chunky, light eyelashes…it reminds of me of wet eyelashes from being in the water!

I LOOOOVE this mascara. Hands down, my favorite mascara of all time. It’s not for everyone because the formula is so light, but it’s so natural and perfect and light : )

These are just some of the makeups I am loving this summer! But obviously, I don’t pile everything all on at once :p
